Project Overview

DistroMotion is a global music-distribution platform that helps artists and record labels get their music heard and monetized everywhere. From a single account, artists can distribute to more than 300 stores and streaming platforms across 195+ countries — including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok and Deezer — while keeping 100% ownership of their music. Stacknyu built the platform experience end-to-end on a SvelteKit, PocketBase and Go stack.

Challenges & Objectives

1. Global Distribution Reach
   • Challenge: Artists need their music on every major platform, in every region, without managing dozens of stores individually.
   • Objective: Deliver a distribution network that reaches 300+ stores and streaming services across 195+ countries through one submission.
2. Artist Control and Ownership
   • Challenge: Musicians are wary of platforms that take ownership or lock them into unfair terms.
   • Objective: Let artists keep 100% ownership of their music while managing releases, payments and royalties from one dashboard.
3. Team and Label Management
   • Challenge: Artists and labels work with teams — managers, collaborators and labels — who need different levels of access.
   • Objective: Support multiple accounts, team members with permissions, payment setup and scheduled releases all in one place.

Our Approach

1. Artist-First Platform Design
   • We designed a clean, intuitive dashboard where artists upload music, manage releases and track earnings without technical friction.
2. Scalable Backend
   • PocketBase and Go power account management, release scheduling and payment flows, with a Node server handling integrations with distribution partners.
3. Rights and Royalties Support
   • The platform supports rights administration and royalty collection partnerships, plus YouTube MCN services including licensing, content ID and monetization boosts.
4. Performance-Ready Infrastructure
   • Deployed on Cloudflare Pages with a modern SvelteKit frontend for fast, reliable global access.
